We started Early Moments Matter early last year, and since that time we've delivered more than 50,000 toolkits to institutions ranging from high-birth rate hospitals to community centers. This summer, Early Head Start will begin distributing the kit to centers around the country, and a number of organizations are using it for training, staff development, and seminar curricula.

This is the first time this valuable resource has been made available to the general public. And we are excited to be able to offer an opportunity for you to help others. When you purchase a toolkit from this website, you will also be underwriting the cost of a second toolkit going to a parent or caregiver who cannot afford it on their own. Four million babies are born every year in the United States, and approximately 20% of these children will grow up below the poverty line. With this program, we have the opportunity to ensure that parents and caregivers understand the importance of forming secure attachments and have the resources to do so.
